The Cryomander is a species of amphibiland appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It is an adult of its species, having a body size between that of the smaller Gildemandwee and much larger Gildemander. In terms of appearance, it is light gray with glowing blue eyes and clawed toes. Instead of an antenna, it has what appears to be a blowhole from which it can eject snow and ice that is produced on the special glands on its back. As the name suggests, the Cryomander has powers over the cold and can secrete a freezing agent from the three pores on its backside to form a frozen solid hide covered in snow. This snow gives the Cryomander the ability to cool itself under the harsh sun that dominates its desert home. This icy protection has the side effect of making the surrounding ground cold and slippery, making it hard to navigate. Every Cryomander herd, which consists of 4-7 individuals, is led by an alpha, which has a purple crest on its head and has the unique ability to lob balls of ice from its mouth, crushing anything underneath them upon landing. Cryomanders have an intense rivalry with Magmanders, the two regularly engaging in turf wars over territory, often to the death.

Defeating a Cryomander requires attacking the three pores on its back. The alpha's ice crystals can only be destroyed by killing the rest of the herd, but killing the alpha first will considerably weaken the rest of the herd, making them slower and far less organized. The use of Alloy Pikmin is a viable strategy against Cryomanders, as their weight alone can easily shatter the ice protecting the creatures, though their low speed makes them prime targets, especially to the alpha, which can easily swallow up to 100 Pikmin in one lick of its tongue. A better option may be to use fiery red syrups or explosive orange syrups, as both will melt any ice they are exposed to, allowing all Pikmin types to attack the Cryomander. Another tactic would be to clog the Cryomander's blowhole by tossing an Alloy Pikmin into it while the beast prepares to lick, blasting away the snow covering its back, rendering its pores vulnerable while preventing it from making snow. Should the opportunity arise, a captain could lead a herd of Cryomanders to a herd of Magmanders to instigate a fight between the two, and use Pikmin to finish off the victorious side once the conflict is over. Overall, the Cryomander is a very cold but crafty foe, and its greatest enemy may just be its elemental counterpart.
