Challenge Pikmin are a type of Pikmin found only in the Challenge Mode of Pikmin Forever, contributing to the difficulty of the challenges in which they occur. Like Bulbmin, they are immune to all hazards except explosions, blunt force, and pits. However, they are constantly wilting; their leaf, bud, or flower changes from a healthy green to a cracking brown over a ninety-second lifespan; at ten seconds left, their color begins to blink with alarm. If they do not drink green nectar within these ninety seconds, they will die. Fortunately, most enemies in challenges featuring Challenge Pikmin release drops of green nectar when defeated, prolonging the Challenge Pikmins' lives. The maturity of Challenge Pikmin does not change their lifespan.
