Alloy Pikmin are a species of Pikmin appearing in Pikmin Evolution, where they are either the fifth or sixth Pikmin type encountered depending on if Roach Pikmin are found first. Their name comes from their bodies being made out of an extremely heavy alloy known as Pikinium-5. Alloy Pikmin have a distinctive, screw-like shape caused by their wide, flat heads, and are also the only species to have one eye rather than two. Their leaves resemble pinecones, the bristles becoming more pronounced as they advance in maturity. Their metal bodies are extremely durable, allowing them to survive crushing and stabbing attacks, and their sheer weight alone not only stuns enemies upon impact with them or the ground near them but also equates to twenty-five Pikmin for use in weight puzzles. Lastly, their dense skin grants them immunity to cold temperatures and ice-based attacks. However, Alloy Pikmin have some debilitating downsides. They are the slowest Pikmin in terms of movement and attack speed, meaning that in some cases their stun is the only thing they have going for them in combat. While they, alongside Kelp Pikmin, are the only Pikmin immune to drowning, Alloy Pikmin become almost unusable underwater, meaning bringing them is often discouraged for the sake of time and convenience. While Alloy Pikmin have a lot of good qualities, their many major weaknesses mean they need support from other types to thrive.
