The Toasted Breadbug is a breadbug appearing in Pikmin: Elemental Speciation. Its body features char marks reminiscent of those on toast, and like the Fiery Bulblax, is perpetually ablaze. It ignites any Pikmin, besides Red Pikmin, that touch it or the item it is currently dragging. They behave identically to regular Breadbugs, attempting to drag treasures and carcasses back to their nests, which are commonly surrounded by fire geysers. After being slammed into the ship or an Onion by them beaming up the object it was holding, a Toasted Breadbug's fiery body temporarily extinguishes.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This species of breadbug evolved the ability to excrete, from its body and mouth, a substance that catches on fire upon contact with air. I theorize that this was not evolved for self-defense, as it already has a thick hide, but as a method of cooking food in order to make consumption safer, but it is also possible this was evolved to mitigate the dangers of Pikmin stealing whatever object it is carrying.

Louie's notes

Despite how easy the preparation is, its meat is mostly flavorless, only being improved slightly by the smoky taste.

Shacho's notes

This beast's self-cooking meat combined with its ease of domesticability could make it the next big fast-food craze on Hocotate!
