There are seventeen obtainable upgrades in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze. The four data chips are required to complete the game; the rest of the upgrades are optional and can be found either as rewards for defeating certain powerful enemies or laying around in hard-to-reach spots.
Data chips
Data chips contain important geographical data, are held by some of the game's bosses, and unlock new areas. The only exceptions are the Unfamiliar Valley, which is the first area, and the Vengeful Thicket, which is discovered by accident after completing a certain objective in the Karst of Gales.
- Data chip A
A red chip that is located in the Unfamiliar Valley and grants access to the Roiling Springs.
- Data chip B
A blue chip that is located in the Unfamiliar Valley and grants access to the Woods of Occlusion.
- Data chip C
A yellow chip that is located in the Woods of Occlusion and grants access to the Karst of Gales.
- Data chip D
A green chip that is located in the Roiling Springs and grants access to the Defiled Grounds.
Hazard resistances
These upgrades give leaders immunity to certain hazards, and can be toggled.
