The Killer Mamuta is a subspecies of Mamuta that displays aggressive behavior. Instead of smashing Pikmin into the ground and flowering them, this type of Mamuta simply crushes Pikmin by smashing them into the ground. These can be distinguished from regular Mamutas by their yellower skin color and slightly darker arm markings. These are larger than the harmless Mamuta, which is another telltale sign of spotting them. Killer Mamutas are recurring enemies, and one appears in the Valley of Grief, whilst two more appear in the Rotting Cavern. Purple Pikmin are the best choice to take these out, due to their ability to stun enemies. However one must be cautious when attempting to fight one of these strange beasts, as one can be fooled by their similar appearance to a regular Mamuta, and when attempting to rush, the Killer Mamuta can quickly lay waste to an entire Pikmin squad.

Notes

Olimar's notes

"The Killer Mamuta at first glance appears to be a regular Mamuta. However, when observing closely, they can be distinguished by their sandier skin coloring and black wrist markings. Much like the Mamuta, the Killer Mamuta has a strange connection to Pikmin, albeit instead of flowering them, it kills them. It is suggested that this subspecies evolved due to a sudden abnormal spike of hormones in a Mamuta--which, after breeding, brought this strange creature into existence."

Louie's notes

"Inedible. Causes explosive diarrhea."
