Strykes are glydes in Pikmin 4. They snatch up leaders, the reason why they do it is because they like anything shiny and the light on the leader’s helmet is an instant target. they take the captain and retreat with them on a pedestal, made up of two platforms: one that is raised, and one that is lower. To get the leader back, Oatchi must lure the Stryke into sitting upon the lower platform, and then a Purple Pikmin the higher one, making the platform the Stryke is sitting upon shoot up and defeat it and causing it to drop the leader. Occasionally a Stryke won’t swipe the leader because it would already be carrying a castaway or leafling.
