The Boxer Jellyfloat is a boss jellyfloat in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. This boss is located in the Enchanted Shore, being the main boss of that area. It is extremely large, roughly the size of a Quaggled Mireclops, and has a blue hue and purple spots, with dozens of very large and sharp tentacles dangling under it. When a captain enters the arena, the Boxer Jellyfloat will slowly float down and emit a devastating, gurgly roar.

The Boxer Jellyfloat has a particular set of attacks. It will float around until it is above the nearest leader, whereupon it will attempt to inhale them and any Pikmin beneath it. If it does so successfully, Pikmin must be thrown on it before the victims are digested and killed. Regardless of whether or not it inhaled any Pikmin, weighing the Boxer Jellyfloat down with enough thrown Yellow Pikmin, which it hovers just within range of, will cause it to crash to the ground. While it is immobilized, charge the creature with Red Pikmin and Rock Pikmin to do massive damage. It will eventually shake its attackers off and return to the air, afterward extending its tentacles to snag Pikmin with them. If it grabs any that are not Yellow Pikmin, it will shock the Pikmin and throw them to the ground, rendering them invulnerable but paralyzed until whistled. It will keep hold of any Yellow Pikmin it grabs, hanging them low to the ground, until forced to release them by throwing Pikmin at them; those that remain captive after some time has passed will be plunged into the Boxer Jellyfloat's orifice and instantly consumed. Later on in the battle, the Boxer Jellyfloat will gain a new attack: it will violently inhale every Pikmin and leader present in the arena from its center and then electrify itself, scattering them across every inch of the arena, damaging captains and paralyzing inapt Pikmin. Round everyone up before the jellyfloat can take action against the isolated forces. Upon death, the Boxer Jellyfloat will spiral around uncontrollably in the air and smash into the ground. It will then shrivel up, releasing any treasure or item in its possession.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This massive, newly discovered jellyfloat species seems to be a new evolution of the jellyfloat family. Going off the classic rule of "the more you eat, the bigger you get", this creature seems to have a very large diet. Instead of mainly consuming Pikmin and small airborne insects, the Boxer Jellyfloat will consume much larger creatures like wollywogs and juvenile grub-dogs and breadbugs. This creature seems to have a controlling effect on all other jellyfloats; as researchers have reported this creature "commanding" lesser jellyfloats to attack other smaller creatures or gather food.

Louie's notes

There are only two options to go down when utilizing this creature. Either sculpt it into a delicious blueberry jello cake, or use it as a grandiose bouncy house for your kids!

President’s notes

If the ship doesn’t complain, I might try to capture one of these guys and put them in an aquarium. It could be the next big hit at the Hocotate National Zoo! I’d be swimming in money, literally!
