The Lavahop is a species of drophop that lives in pools of lava. They have two glowing yellow eyes, and an amorphous round body made of lava, and can be small, medium, or large. Their design is inspired by the Lava Bubble from the Super Mario franchise.
The Lavahop cannot be harmed by Pikmin and is invulnerable to all forms of damage. They will jump out of pools of lava periodically, around every seven seconds. If any Pikmin that are not resistant to fire touches the Lavahop, they will be lit ablaze and possibly perish. This is especially a problem if Lavahops jump through bridges, or jump right into groups of Winged Pikmin. Be careful when encountering a Lavahop; make sure to move only once the enemy falls back into the lava.
