Attacks | Fires bullets at Pikmin |
The Trigger-Happy Groink is a new boss discovered in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. It resembles a Gatling Groink, but its greenish armor is a hardened black and made of steel, with its protective facial shield no longer being transparent. The Groink's eyes glow red, with a scar on one of them. The Trigger-Happy Groink is also much larger than a normal Gatling Groink.
When a Trigger-Happy Groink is active, it will stand in place. If it senses the footsteps of any creature, it will look in the direction of the vibrations, lift up its armor, charge its attack, and fire seven lethal bullets at extremely high speeds at the target. The target can be Pikmin, or even other enemies. The best way to attack the Groink is to go around its back right before it starts to fire to attack it. If harmed, the Trigger-Happy Groink will shake away all Pikmin and charge up another attack. It will shoot out a flurry of bullets into the air, which land around the Groink in a spiral formation. During its charge time, it’s best for the captain and Pikmin to retreat. Unlike Gatling Groinks, Trigger-Happy Groinks do not regenerate health after dying. Defeating a Trigger-Happy Groink for the first time will grant the "American Shot-fish" achievement.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “The Trigger-Happy Groink is a strange creature. This creature has further evolved its biomechanical armor to display the qualities of steel plating. Being unable to see from its armor, the Groink adapted by sensing vibrations coming from the ground to lock onto targets. Even more horrifying, Trigger-Happy Groinks have been displaying unstable behavior, randomly attacking its own kind when provoked. It’s surprising how they are still able to procreate.”
Louie's notes
- “After removing the steel and ammo, char-grill the meat to create juicy slabs! Side effects may include psychotic tendencies, sociopathy, isolation, loss of emotions, erratic behavior, and paranoia.”
President’s notes
- “I am never going to hire this creature to do anything at all... It would probably turn on me at a moment's notice! To be honest... it kind of reminds me of Louie... Maybe that’s why he was getting along with this psychopath...”
