The Sniper Pumphog is an enemy appearing in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf's Withered Remnant DLC. The creature takes on the physical form of most grounded blowhogs. They have a gray body, with turquoise eyes and a green-tipped snout. Along with this, their snout is more elongated, similar to a Jamboree Blowhog's.

The Sniper Pumphog wanders around idly until Pikmin enter the cave room it is in, the distance between them being irrelevant. Once Pikmin are in its sight, it will swallow up to five pebbles on the ground and then fire one pebble at a time in the direction of the squad. One pebble has the capacity to kill one Pikmin. However, Rubber Pikmin can deflect the pebbles back at the Pumphog. The best way to dodge these pebbles is by running constantly while the Pumphog shoots. After it has ceased firing, it needs 10 seconds to reload, allowing for an opening to attack. On rarer occasions, the Sniper Pumphog will consume a nearby pellet to fire at the group. The pellet can come in the size of 1, 5, 10, or 20. Each number corresponds to the amount of Pikmin it can kill. However, the color of the pellet indicates that color of Pikmin is immune to the pellet when hit; they will only be deflowered.

The Sniper Pumphog is a blowhog appearing in Pikmin: Spark. They have a green face, turquoise eyes, and a gray body. Dwelling in dens, they are more calculating than the other fauna of PNF-404. While Sniper Pumphogs have a similar attack method to the Telescoping Pumphog, shooting rocks at prey, they favor attacking leaders specifically from a distance. It shoots a series of five small pellets aimed directly at the captains, using its intelligence to calculate where and when is the best place to aim, leading shots when possible. The projectiles ricochet up to two times off surfaces they hit, meaning the calculated shots of the Sniper Pumphog can prove difficult to avoid without casualties. Like other pumphogs, they don't leave behind any remains except a small amount of sparklium or pellets when defeated.

Notes

Abel's medical journal

While the pellets provide no medical analyses, they hurt, like, a LOT. I'm never going to analyze a den again.

Lyn's sale review

Is it just me, or is it worrying that these creatures have become more and more militarized?
