The Oozore is an elusive and mysterious being appearing in Pikmin Eco as both the story's main focus, as the leaders are tasked to track the Oozore down and capture it for an anonymous commissioner, and the final boss. Its entire body, while not completely specified, is comprised of liquified metal with two cube-like cores that keep the body together, and various rings around the body.

Throughout the story, the leaders constantly encounter trails of the Oozore's matter in different areas, indicating its recent presence. However, in Explorer's Exit, the final cave in Crumble Quarry, the Oozore produces numerous metallic versions of previous bosses as a defensive measure against the leaders, though all of them are significantly weaker than their original versions. Only when it is corned at Mount Metal, it will truly defend its life.

Once the fight begins, it will attempt to attack leaders and Pikmin with a whip-like arm, which, if missing the main target, will cause knockback to the targets. Its body, thanks to its liquid metal, is highly toxic even to White Pikmin and will poison all Pikmin types that contact it. Both of its cores are covered inside the Oozore's matter, making it, for a time, invincible. Occasionally, it will spread its body out along the battlefield, but in doing so it will expose one of its two cores. Only Winged Pikmin are able to reach and attack the cores during this moment, and the Oozore will quickly retract itself after a few swarming hits. After one of its cores is destroyed, its attack strategy changes drastically. It will begin leaving behind a trail of metal, making areas dangerous to walk on for about five seconds before it disintegrates. Its main attack consists of spreading a set of whip-like arms and spinning around, spreading more liquid metal around the battlefield and potentially hitting leaders and Pikmin. It's only able to be damaged after releasing a wave of metal, which will briefly expose the remaining core to attack.

At the end of the story, it is revealed that the purpose behind the commission was to gather the Oozore's metal to create weapons to hunt PNF-404's wildlife, the commissioner themself working for a hunter that attempted to do the same thing.

Notes

In-game entry

We barely know that much about the Oozore, but perhaps after everything that's happened it's probably for the better. All I do know about it is that it is highly toxic, even the poison-resilient White Pikmin able to succumb to its metal, and that it holds a surprising level of intelligence that we've only heard about through similar wraiths. It seems every time an exploration takes place on this planet, there's always at least one strange being like this...
