Evolved Pikmin are a special species that evolved from common Pikmin, they are the main focus of the Onion Olimar Timeline.
Onion Olimar Timeline (spoilers from Pikmin 1)
In the bad ending of Pikmin, Olimar's ship crash lands and he became unconscious, in response, the Pikmin converted him into an Olimar-Pikmin hybrid, however, the Pikmin didn't know how to pluck their fellow brethren and so Olimar was kept as a lowly sprout.
However due to the mutations caused by the Hocotatian DNA and Pikmin DNA, Olimar evolved into a barely recognizable Onion shaped plant and his biological influence started to spread across the many Pikmin Onions and candypop buds, causing a boost of intelligence into all species of Pikmin. However, a select few Pikmin mutated into what is now dubbed as Evolved Pikmin. That is alongside the many new mutated wildlife.
What differentiates an Evolved Pikmin from a Normal Pikmin
Evolved Pikmin gained heightened intelligence from inheriting the brain structure of a more evolved humanoid and Evolved Pikmin gained the builds of Captains gaining both the abilities to throw Normal Pikmin and the natural abilities and immunities their individual species give. They are also evolved to be of similar body structure and size to a Hocotatian.
Red Pikmin
Due to being in the most contact with Olimar, Red Pikmin are the most similar to Olimar as they have the most heightened intelligence of all Pikmin types. Like their progenitor, they tend to look at everything with a scientific edge logging all of their findings into scientific journal entries. Due to being fireproof as well, they are also known for creating experiments that tend to go up in great sparks in the end.
Yellow Pikmin
Due to being the highest fliers, this has transcribed into being the most agile, and have been noted to perform great gymnastics, often journaling how they and their peers move in different ways. They are the most technologically advanced due to having an electric immunity and are most familiar with other alien technology.
Blue Pikmin
Blue Pikmin are the most abundant of the Evolved Pikmin due to living in the depths of the ocean. They are experts in living in tough environments and often record how their fellow fauna adapt to their environments. They were also canonically the first of the Pikmin races to interact with Evolved Purple Pikmin and White Pikmin.
Purple Pikmin
Deep in the depths of PNF-404, Purple Pikmin rein as the strongest Pikmin, being capable of great feats of strength. They also know how to properly find weaknesses in other creatures and journal about that information. They form a symbiotic relationship with White Pikmin.
White Pikmin
White Pikmin are considered the underdogs of the Evolved Pikmin, they are the frailest and their poisonous abilities and immunities come at the cost of being the most susceptible to illness. That is why they tend to be near Purple Pikmin settlements as their weaknesses are covered and their advantages such as having the best navigation of the Evolved Pikmin, and their red irises granting them increased vision. Interestingly they tend to be good cooks but they have strange tastes when it comes to how they eat the many animals of the world.
