The Dwarf Painted Bulborb is a breadbug mimic appearing in Pikmin 251. It is the dwarf counterpart of the Painted Bulborb and behaves much like a Dwarf Orange Bulborb, noticing Pikmin and leaders from a farther distance than other dwarfs do. They are also immune to the poison of White Pikmin. Dwarf Painted Bulborbs sniff the ground in front of them, usually in small groups, searching for prey. They are sometimes found in the company of Painted Bulborbs, and if this is the case, take caution: much like Orange Bulborbs, Painted Bulborbs are light sleepers and wake up easily.

Dwarf Painted Bulborbs have the body shape and size of most dwarf bulborbs. They have teal skin, a purple rump with lavender spots, white fangs and nails, a red mouth with a pink tongue, and blue eyes on a pair of eyestalks. Its spots are notable in that they appear as if they were drawn onto the creature's back by hand. Its spots and striking appearance are what give the Dwarf Painted Bulborb its name.

Defeating a Dwarf Painted Bulborb is usually a simple task. One can be killed quickly by swarming it or by throwing a single Pikmin onto its back. In numbers, they can be more dangerous, but still can be taken out with relative ease.

Notes

Olimar's observations

On our last journey, I wrote about the creatures we saw from a biological perspective. But this time, I'd rather write about them just based on some observations I've made. This bulborb is interesting since I never saw it on our last journey. It has a purple and green color scheme, quite a strange look. But where could it have been? It hasn't been more than a year since our last visit. Very peculiar indeed...

Cookin' with Louie

For a snack you won't forget, dredge chunks of the meat in all-purpose flour and deep-fry them. The meat will make the bread into a dark purple color that is remarkably unique!
