Dark Cave is the final cave at The Warfield in Pikmin: The War of the Pikmin Planet. It appears after all the caves in The Warfield are cleared.

Sublevel 1

Enemies

  • Smokgrub x5

Smokgrubs are Male Sheargrubs that have been infected with some sort of virus. They are more vicious than Sheargrubs are, and they never come out of the ground. Always proceed with caution when there are Smokgrubs around.

Sublevel 2

Enemies

  • Smokgrub x3

This sublevel is strangly empty. What's even stranger is the fact that there is no hole. There is a patch of mud on a part of the stone floor. If you stand on it, three Smokgrubs fall from the ceiling, and dig out the ground beneath you. You are now falling down to Sublevel 3!

Sublevel 3

Enemies

  • Smokgrub x3
  • Smokwig x2

The three Smokgrubs that fell with you are an immediate threat on this sublevel. Once the three 'grubs are defeated, two Smokwigs fly down from the ceiling. Smokwigs are essentially Smokgrubs with wings. Unlike Shearwigs, they are always airborne. When you permanently ground the Smokwigs, the hole appears.

Sublevel 4

Enemies

Dwarf Smokey Bulborbs are very aggresive. They never stay in one place and are always mobile. Face them with caution- they can eat your Pikmin 1.5 times faster than Dwarf Red Bulborbs. The hole is in a random place on this sublevel.

Sublevel 5

Enemies

This sublevel introduces two things: Keys and Smoky Bulborbs. Smoky Bulborbs are hazardous, as their backs cannot be touched, because it is made out of black smoke. You always have to fight one from the front, which puts your Pikmin in danger of being eaten. One of the Smokey Bulborbs holds a key. When you bring the key back to the ship, the hole to the next sublevel opens.

Sublevel 6 (Final Floor)

Enemies

  • King Smoky Bulblax

This sublevel is very odd looking. You appear to be in a dark, endless void, standing on purple tile. Walk for a little, and you'll come across a pair of familiar-looking eyes sticking out of the ground. Approach them, and an Emperor Bulblax comes out of the ground. This one, however, is weaker than normal. However, once its health is down to half, its true form is revealed. Darkness envelopes its backside. Its face turns purple. Its lavender tongue turns green. The boss music sounds corrupted and dark. The void gains a reddish tint. Olimar recoils in horror as a Smokey Bulblax stands before him. The battle goes normally, but you cannot touch it's backside. Once its health is down to zero, the Smokey Bulblax disintegrates into black smoke, and then fades into the void. A geyser is located nearby, so you can escape.
