The Bionic Flint Beetle is a close relative of the Doodlebug in Pikmin: Planetary Evolution, unique for its passive ability to project arcs of electricity onto surfaces around it. Once approached closely enough by a leader or their Pikmin, the Bionic Flint Beetle will emerge from the ground and begin frantically skittering around. As it moves, glowing white particles will begin to form around the creature. When enough particles form, an arc of electricity will travel along them until it reaches the final particle, where it will strike a nearby surface and disappear along with the particles. The cycle will repeat so long as the Bionic Flint Beetle is running around. The Bionic Flint Beetle must stop for a longer period of time to generate a particle, making throwing a Pikmin on top of them easier to accomplish. Like most other flint beetles, the Bionic Flint Beetle will eventually flee by burrowing into the ground should it not be attacked enough times to chase it off. The electricity will disintegrate any Pikmin that touches it, with the exception of Yellow Pikmin. The arc of electricity the creature produces will kill non-Yellow Pikmin even if it has not yet struck a nearby surface, making it act as a temporary yet effective defense mechanism.
