The Acidic Dirigibug is a species of dirigibug that attacks using acid rather than of bomb rocks. It is green, like the Careening Dirigibug, but it has purple eyes and blue balloons. The Acidic Dirigibug regurgitates balls of acid that are covered by a thin membrane so they retain their form until they are dropped by the creature, where they burst upon impact with the ground or anything else it hits. Even the smallest amount of acid that splashes onto a Pikmin is enough to kill it, making Green Pikmin the best choice for fighting them. Any Pikmin can attack an Acidic Dirigibug, but only Green Pikmin can withstand the acid it produces.
