The Woolyhop is a species of amphituber appearing in Pikmin Evolution. This amphituber is a close relative of the more aquatic Chillhop as they are both snow dwelling Wollywogs. However while the Chillyhop focused on secreting a chilling solution over its body, the Woolyhop, as the name suggests, is covered in thick brown pelt which gives it complete immunity to being frozen. The Woolyhop is more terrestrial than the Chillyhop, tending to live on snowy mountains or caves rather than in the watery basins below. They share similar fighting tactics to most other Wollywogs, that being to jump in the air and crush anyone that comes underneath them, however the addition of hair makes attacking the creature tricky. The hair is so thick that when the Wollywog jumps or does any action that can dislodge Pikmin, they will be trapped inside the Wollywog's pelt, unable to move. The hair of the Woolyhop is so thick that even multiple whistles won't free them, this means the only way to save them is to kill the Woolyhop. The Woolyhop thankfully is quite slow for a amphituber, taking its time to hop across the ground and generally being easier to dodge than normal, however the pressure of having your army trapped in a massive layer of fur is all that is needed for the captain to possibly make mistakes and fall under the Woolyhop's jumps, making the Woolyhop potentially one of the most dangerous enemies in the game. However there is a reason that the Woolyhop is quite adverse in attempting sea travel, that being since its fur is so thick any water that enters the fur will cause it to become wet and heavy. This in turn makes the hair unable to snag any Pikmin as it becomes to heavy to trap any Pikmin. This leaves the Woolyhop the exact same as any other Wollywog, only now its slow jumping speed is a major weakness. However be careful as when it tries to shake off Pikmin there is a chance to it to dry its hair out, meaning that the next shake will snag Pikmin once again, requiring the reapplying of water in order to prevent that from happening. Also don't burn the Woolyhop while wet, as that will evaporate the water clogging its hair and therefore will allow it to return back to normal. Overall don't mess up your opportunity to cripple this dangerous foe so that it won't clog your army with its thick coat.
