The White Mushroom Pikmin is a different kind of Mushroom Pikmin, but the insides of the Breakdown Patches changed the reflection of the light on the Mushroom Pikmin. These Pikmin attack you and your Pikmin, and also attack Mushroom Pikmin. Its like a civil war went between the two because of their different skin color.
