The Welcome Mat is a ship part in Pikmin: Interstellar Cryptid. It requires four Pikmin to carry. It is, quite literally, a welcome mat for the S.S. Lacewing, with the word, "welcome" spelt out in Koppaite language. Despite the menial facade, it has a practical use; three RCA cables that are tied together are visible sticking out of the mat, which connect to another ship part, the Burglary Alarm, to signal whenether intruders break into the ship. It sits right under the entrance beam inside the ship after it is collected.
The Welcome Mat is found on sublevel three of Blinding Tunnel, having been swallowed by a Grubchucker that stides in the water. If there isn't enough Blue Pikmin in the squad, an Onion Motel guarded by Dwarf Albino Bulborbs will suffice. Beware of the Breachshriekers and Blue Bulborbs.
Notes
Bentley's notes
- “Although largely meant to welcome guests, this mat is also wired to the security system to set it off when stepped on by a criminal. It can tell the difference between them and us through the use of... these... sorta... small... scanner... things? I barely know what it is, but it keeps my samples safe.”
Eloise's notes
- “This was specially commisioned by myself for the S.S. Lacewing at the request of my grandmother. She's frankly quite the paranoid person, especially after that incident involving the hazlenut that appeared in my uncle's salad...”
