The Warpcake is a species of shellcake appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It has a body structure like that of other members of its species, sharing the black eye stalks and puck shape. However, its main body is made out of a deep purple slate with small purple crystal nodules on its bottom. Like other shellcakes, the Warpcake attacks by flipping over and trying to crush Pikmin flat. Like with all crushing attacks, Alloy Pikmin can be a good help against these foes. However, like all shellcakes, the Warpcake uses an elemental hazard: in this case, the strange power it has over psychokinesis. The Warpcake uses the purple energy crystals on its underside to spark a portal on one side of its body, and when Pikmin enter this portal, they will be teleported away to a nearby random spot. Oftentimes, the Pikmin are either warped on the other side of the Warpcake so that it can more easily crush them, but for Pikmin immune to crushing, like Alloy Pikmin for instance, they get blasted out of the portal, often near the sites of a predator well equipped to take on Alloy Pikmin, or just a bottomless pit if one is nearby. This makes the best Pikmin to take Warpcakes on not Alloy Pikmin, but Wisp Pikmin, as they are immune to being manipulated by psychic abilities, though their weakness to being shaken off brings its own issues. The best course of action is to alternate between using Alloy Pikmin on the crushing side and then using Wisp Pikmin on the crystalized side so as to ignore the teleportation ability. Heavily attacking the creature such as by swarming with a lot of Pikmin will cause the Warpcake to teleport itself away to dodge the assault and above the captains in an attempt to crush them. These traits make Warpcakes very complicated enemies to face as they easily result in many Pikmin deaths if fought improperly.
