Syrup

Syrups are a type of consumable item debuting in Pikmin: Alternate Story. They come in two varieties, the Teal Ultra Tangy Syrups and Yellow Ultra Sweet Syrups. In contrast with the gaseous Sprays, Syrups are a a liquid drinkable item that had a texture similar to molasses. They give buffs to captains in contrast to Sprays giving buffs and debuffs to Pikmin and Enemies respectively.

Collecting

Harvesting the fruit of a Hanging Cocoberry, the Syrup you get will depend on if you harvest and Hanging Yellowberry or Hanging Tealberry.

Defeating enemies, mainly enemies that don't drop a corpse.

Smashing eggs

Sometimes Teal and Golden Candypop buds will drop these when wilting.

Uses

Like Sprays, using Syrups is as simple as hitting left or right of the D-pad as opposed to up and down for sprays. Unlike sprays which are used to affect you surroundings, Syrups are used to hive captains temporary buffs.

Yellow Ultra Sweet Syrups gives faster walking speed and gives increased throw rate. Can be used by hitting left on the D-pad.

Teal Ultra Tangy Syrups gives captains increased defense temporarily and refills the hp meter of the captain who used it. Can be used by hitting right on the D-pad.
