Sharp Pikmin are a species of Pikmin appearing in Pikmin VI. Their body is similar to an elongated thorn, and their buds and flowers end in sharp points. They aren't easily thrown off of enemies they are latched onto, have the carry strength of 2 Pikmin, and inflict damage to any enemy that tries to consume or crush them. The damage dealt from crushing is lower on soft surfaces, although any Sharp Pikmin involved survive. They have no Onion or pellet, so they are stored in the S.S. Explorer, along with Purple Pikmin and White Pikmin.

Notes

Alph's notes

This Pikmin is unusually sharp and has proven excellent in collecting fruits.

Ali's notes

A Pikmin with a pointy stem. Maybe I could have a contest with Alph that involves throwing them as far as possible... (Perhaps when we're not busy averting planet-wide famine.)

Burr Pikmin are the second-to-last Pikmin type found in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze. They are discovered in the Vengeful Thicket. Though they are small and deal below-average damage to enemies, they are covered in sharp orange thorns which make them deal some extra impact damage when grabbing onto an enemy. The thorns also make them pop bubbles such as those from the Waddlepus and the Oozing Capsnider on contact.

The spiny bodies of Burr Pikmin make it difficult for enemies to shake them off; when an enemy flicks, there is a roughly thirty-percent chance that a Burr Pikmin will stay attached. Furthermore, Burr Pikmin are resistant to lubricant and can grab onto objects and enemies that are otherwise too slick for other Pikmin to get a hold of. For instance, Burr Pikmin are the only Pikmin that can climb across wet vines because they are undeterred by the plant's slippery outer layer.

Spike Pikmin are a species of Pikmin discovered in Pikmin: Attack of DeathSpike. They are very spiky and are able to latch on to their prey using their spiked hands, with a one in two chance of prey being poisoned when latching on. Spike Pikmin are the only Pikmin that are immune to DeathSpike fragments. They also have a chance to cause damage when eaten.

Notes

Olimar's journal

These amazing creatures have somehow evolved to adapt to the DeathSpike invasion. It seems as if its ancestors knew this would be happening and therefore they were able to start evolving into these new Spike Pikmin. To be able to latch on to DeathSpike fragments without dying is a tribute to their amazing evolutionary path. These little guys will be very useful!

Thorn Pikmin are a peculiar Pikmin type appearing in Pikmin: Infinite Exploration. They have a wide, round, brown body with orange-tipped limbs and thorns, and indigo petals. Because of their body shape, they can not hold bomb rocks. Thorn Pikmin stick to soft-bodied enemies, and plants, they are thrown at, inflicting major damage initially and then low residual damage to enemies as long as they remain in contact. Enemies such as Puffy Blowhogs are especially vulnerable to the damage Thorn Pikmin inflict when thrown, receiving thirty damage instead of the usual twenty. Thorn Pikmin also inflict damage to certain enemies that eat or crush them and may cause certain enemies that try to eat them to flinch in pain. Enemies that Thorn Pikmin are stuck to have difficulty shaking them off, especially any that are stuck in their hair if they have any. They are, however, largely ineffective against shelled insectoid enemies, even those that can be damaged normally by other Pikmin, but can be thrown directly on top of small ones to instantly kill them. Vegetation Thorn Pikmin stick to may be weighed down, forming bridges or paths other Pikmin can take. They also stick to dirt walls and do minimal damage to them after being thrown. As Thorn Pikmin do not have a respective Onion or pellet, the only way to propagate them is with Russet Candypop Buds, although they will inhabit the Master Onion.

Notes

Olimar's notes

I wonder what makes them so sharp like blades... Either way, their strange actions are captivating, like the time they spun like a dance I know, but I was too focused on finding ship parts to repay the debt... again... again... and again...

Louie's notes

Inedible. Tastes like a Crimson Banquet.
