Notes

Olimar's observations

The skitter leaf is not a threat to the Pikmin, but it can still be a real pain if it runs around and disturbs nearby creatures like Bulborbs. They're also really quick and hard to catch. If they were able to directly hurt my Pikmin, they would be a much stronger enemy. As they are, they're more of an inconvenience than anything.

Cookin' with Louie

The superb amalgamation of juicy meat and leafy greens ensures that the skitter leaf will be the new spinach!

In Pikmin V, the Skitter Leaf behaves a little differently. When disguised as a leaf, it cannot be locked onto or hurt in any way. If a leader or Pikmin steps on it, it will immediately flip up, knocking them over, and begin running around like normal. To avoid this from happening, it must be whistled, which will stir it from its disguise.

Notes

Brittany's notes

Judging by fossil records, the Skitter Leaf originally evolved from an ancestor of the Skeeterskate in an area where a forest river became cut off, creating selective pressure leading to its leafy camouflage. However, the camouflage has proven so effective that the Skitter Leaf population exploded and became a cosmopolitan species in forests worldwide. Its diet of leaf litter has raised concerns about other lifeforms that live there, but so far, no proposed methods of controlling the population have proven effective.

Olimar's notes

It will give you a shake and a scare if you step on one, but it cannot cause actual harm. Scout fallen leaves by whistling, as that will rouse them out of their camouflage. If it's standing up, a direct hit to the back will instantly kill it.

Louie's notes

Vital nutrients from both plants and animals are packed into this low-caloric crunch! Man, I feel like the ship right now...
