Scientific name Spourgitis advenus
Family Huntinpeck

Scornets are tiny hornet-like cone-shaped creatures that are lead by the Scornet Maestro. Under its control, the Scornets will coordinate to organize themselves into unique formations, each with its own attack: a cone, a rectangle, and a circle. When alone, however, these creatures are much less uniform and easier to defeat. Whether alone or with the Scornet Maestro, the Scornets' attacks will result in captured Pikmin being carried around for a set amount of time before being flown away and killed.

Scornets make an appearance in Pikmin: Antarctic Survival, though they do not have names or personalities of their own, and exist only as a swarm commanded by the Scornet Maestro, Hildegard. They are the smallest creatures that can be Diamond Settlement residents, taking up only 0.08 space in resident housing, and they are Awakened at the same time as Hildegard is. They are also quite weak, only having a carry strength of 0.5.

The Scornets only appear with Hildegard, showing up in the Antarctic as wandering creatures once thirty days have passed. There are one hundred of them in all, and Hildegard is able to replenish their numbers over time at a rate of a few Scornets per day if they are lost. If anything, the Awakened Scornets are less characters or residents of their own, and more of a part of Hildegard, since they are always together with her.
