The Roiling Springs is the second area in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze. A rocky, tropical coastline that bears frequent volcanic activity, with lush greenery bordering on dangerous fiery landscapes. Present inland are verdant tropical plants, and near the beach are palm trees and shore grass. The landing site is right in the middle of one of the safer areas, which are prime for growing Pikmin in relative peace, but once more Pikmin types are available, the player must tread into the more treacherous territory in order to take full advantage of the region. Pools of lava are common in the Roiling Springs; only Red Pikmin can walk on lava, making them the ideal choice for the hotter areas here. Rock Pikmin are found here, as well as the final data chip needed to access the Defiled Grounds.
