The Puffstorm is a boss found in [[The Lost Chasm]]. It is a cloud of purple gas with yellow antennae hovering above it. It is a normal [[Puffstool]], that has mutated, when it was struck by a chemical bomb. The mutation has gave it enhanced abilities, such as duplication, the ability to shoot out fire, ice, water etc, and it can summon other Sporovids. If Pikmin get to close, they will be possessed by the spore cloud, and become Mushroom Pikmin. The antennae of this creature has not undergone any transformation, but can still shoot out electrical energy balls. This has led to speculation, that it may be a new species of Sporovid, transformed, but this can not be confirmed. When defeated, the creature implodes, leaving nothing. Because of this, the biology of this creature, is a complete mystery.

The Puffstorm is a boss sporovid encountered in the Lost Chasm in Pikmin: The Rising Darkness. It was a normal Puffstool that was struck by a chemical bomb, causing it to mutate into a cloud of purple gas with a pair of yellow antennae hovering above it. Its mutations gave it enhanced abilities, allowing it to use several hazards to its benefit as well as summon other members of its family. Pikmin that come too close to the creature will be transformed into ravenous Mushroom Pikmin. The Puffstorm has the ability to generate balls of electricity using its antennae which the creature can fire at its attackers. There has been speculation as to if the Puffstorm is an entirely new species, but it cannot be confirmed. Upon defeat, the creature implodes, leaving nothing behind. Because of this, the biology of the Puffstorm is a complete mystery.
