The Puffrex is the boss of Spore Cavern in Pikmin: Dark Forces. It can transform Pikmin into Mushroom Pikmin by firing spore projectiles at them.

- “This giant mushroom creature reminded me of the puffstool, a creature I fought on my first visit. However, this one is larger and more aggressive than the puffstool. The puffrex can fire spores like a projectile at my Pikmin and turn them against me. I hope that the puffrex was a one-and-only thing.”
