Pikmin Evolution is a game concept made by Glubbfubb for the Nintendo Switch. The game takes place on an alternate timeline that takes place after the bad ending of the original Pikmin where Olimar became a Pikmin and explores the ramifications of such an event. It features six playable new Pikmin, five new playable captains, a new and unique base-building system, a new collectable called refuse, and a singular interconnected map.
Plot
We start the game off on the surface of an alien planet at an unknown time and date. We see our first encounter with our main protagonist Magdalene, staying up late and seeing the stars in the night sky. She sees a red star fall onto the planet's surface, and so she decides to investigate and sees the star create a crater from where it lands. Unfortunately a Red Bulborb follows her as well ready to take a bite out of her, but the star suddenly splits apart into several smaller stars and scares away the grub-dog and she is dragged back home by her parents. Her home, found deep underground, later gets Raided by monsters, forcing the citizens to flee deeper into the caverns. There in the chaos Magdalene encounters the star once again, she touches it and the star sheds its shell to reveal an pale Onion, the Onion drops a single seed, and the adventure begins.
