Upgrades are basically Power-Ups for captains in Pikmin: Before the Impact and are purchased which Experience Points or XP. Upgrades are divided in the 4 categories below.


Gloves

Glove Upgrades are Upgrades that would improve the actions in-game made by hands.

Power Up- Improves the damage of your Punches

Pluck Speed- Improves how fast you pluck Pikmin

Throw Skill- Improves the smoothness and accuracy when throwing Pikmin


Suit

Suit Upgrades are mainly Upgrades that would do with protection and resistance from hazards and monsters.

Shield- Damage from creatures is reduced for your captain

Fire Resistance- Your captain is immune to fire hazards

Electricity Resistance- Your captain is immune to electricity hazards

Poison Resistance- Your captain is immune to poison hazards

Geothermal Protection- Your captain is immune to Geothermal Radiation

Sub-Zero Protection- Your captain is immune to severely cold temperatures


Boots

Boot Upgrades are Upgrades that would improve your feet to withstand in-game challenges.

Speed- Increases how fast your captain and any Pikmin in his command can run

Stealth- Decreases the chance of sleeping enemies waking up when your captain or his Pikmin walk by

Wind Resistance- Your captain is immune to being knocked down by gusts of air

Tar Resistance- Your captain is not hurt and moves at normal speed when in Tar

Magma Protection- Your captain is not hurt and moves at normal speed when in Magma


Whistle

Whistle Upgrades are Upgrades that would improve your command over Pikmin.

Range- Increases how far the sound of your whistle can carry

Area- Increases how big the command circle is when you blow your whistle
