The Pellet Poser is a falsifloran in Pikmin 5. It resembles a Pellet Posy in its mature stage, but on its pellet is a white, roughly rectangular pupil rather than a "1". The pellet also cycles colors much like an ordinary Pellet Posy's. The Pellet Poser can spray a hypnotizing gas from its pupil, causing Pikmin to dance around it and ignore whistling. The Pellet Poser will then erupt from the ground, revealing its legs, and proceed to reveal the gaping mouth under its eye. It will then lean back slightly and then swiftly bring its head down, shutting its mouth on Pikmin to trap and eat them. It will continue eating Pikmin until it is killed, or there are no confused Pikmin left, whereupon it will spray gas from its eye and start eating again. Its eye receives twice as much damage as the rest of its body. When defeated, its eye will lift up, but this time snap off the flower and fall to the ground, separating its body into two parts. Additionally, its pellet will stop changing color, and the Pikmin of the matching color will benefit most from it.

Attacks Crushes Pikmin

The Pellet Poser is a large enemy in Pikmin E: Remastered. It strongly resembles a Pellet Posy, but has a much darker coloration, and no number on the 'pellet', which actually serves as its singular eye. Once within the range of Pikmin or a leader, it will emerge from the ground and charge straight at them, falling over and crushing anything under it. Afterward, it enters a short period in which it can be slain by being bombarded with Pikmin. Once defeated, it simply collapses into a strange, dirt-like substance, which may occasionally reveal an egg after being dug up. Due to the creature not leaving a corpse behind on death, it is rendered inedible, meaning Louie has no notes for it.

Notes

Olimar's notes

A strange nuisance indeed. I am encountering many new chrysanthemum species that imitate commonly useful items on my explorations, it's almost like they're adapting to become more dangerous... Hm...

Pellet Posers in Pikmin V are distinguishable from Pellet Posies by the number on the pellet. A Pellet Poser's pellet will have only a white line down the middle, as the pellet is actually the creature's eye. The rest of the Pellet Poser's biology is similarly shifted from the Creeping Chrysanthemum: its mouth is on its stomach, which it can eat Pikmin with by sweeping them up using the leafy arms it has instead of root-like stalks. The other roots on its bottom side are tougher and extend out to form walkable legs, like a spider's, though it is not particularly fast. When killed, the pellet eye will drop separately from the main corpse, having the same weight but producing more Pikmin than a normal 1-Pellet. The Pellet Poser is the only enemy to leave multiple corpses behind, a trait it would later share with Pikmin 4's Bloomcap Bloyster.

Notes

Brittany's notes

Given the ubiquity of the Pellet Posy, it's not surprising that there's a mimic trying to abuse it. The eye is covered with a special, glossy film that even feels like the crystallized nectar of a Pellet Posy, though, of course, the main purpose is to protect it when prey falls for its ruse and latches on. This does mean that the Pellet Poser has no symbiosis with real Posies like that of the Creeping Crysanthemum, in a strange case of convergent evolution of members of the same genus.

Olimar's notes

The main difference between the Posy and the Poser is that the 1 on the latter lacks the diagonal mark at the top, as it is actually the Poser's pupil. The pupil is not sensitive like a Bulborb's eye is. Unlike its Creeping relative, its mouth is on its stomach, so it is safer to keep a distance and strafe it.

The Giga Peeking Pelletonium serves as a boss in Pikmin: Connection of the Worlds and is found at the Ancient Valley. Although it may look like an extremely rare subspecies of Pellet Posy, in truth, it's actually a member of the chrysanthemum family. Specifically, it is an overgrown Peeking Pelletonium. It only appears at the Ancient Valley every twenty days starting from day 41. When approached by a leader or their Pikmin, the Giga Peeking Pelletonium will open its eyes and look around, and upon spotting its prey, it will emerge from the ground, deflowering Pikmin that are too close. The Giga Peeking Pelletonium has four leafy limbs with which it can grab up to three Pikmin at a time, bringing them up to its mouth to eat them.

Once half of its health is gone, the Giga Peeking Pelletonium will begin periodically breathing fire, making Red Pikmin useful. When it is at quarter-health, it will begin to periodically stand completely upright, looking down at Pikmin in front of it while water gushes from its mouth. Blue Pikmin are immune to this attack. When the Giga Peeking Pelletonium's health reaches less than ten percent, it will begin to periodically spit out a few active bomb rocks. This only lasts for three seconds, whereas the other two attacks last six seconds.

To kill the Giga Peeking Pelletonium in record time, Purple Pikmin and Yellow Pikmin must be used. Bomb rocks can be found near the creature's location, which can be taken and used by Yellow Pikmin. Once the Giga Peeking Pelletonium is awake, throw the Yellow Pikmin to make them drop their bomb rocks and flee before they are grabbed by its arms. The beast will instead grab the bomb rocks and it will topple over in pain. While it is down, Purple Pikmin can easily be thrown into the creature's eyes, doing a significant amount of damage on each hit. Repeat the process, but beware of the Giga Peeking Pelletonium's elemental attacks later in the battle. Once it finally dies, the blue hue of the flesh of the creature will turn orange and crackly, then disintegrate. All that will remain of the creature is its head, a 50-pellet that changes color every ten seconds while the creature is still alive, which can be taken for one hundred Pikmin seeds if it is brought to an Onion matching its color.

The Peeking Pelletonium is a rather dastardly variant form of the Creeping Chrysanthemum in Pikspore. It resembles a Pellet Posy, accurately mimicking the plant and its ability to change color. However, its pellet's color is less saturated than a real Pellet Posey's is. The Peeking Pelletonium's true form has the bulbous body of the Creeping Chrysanthemum, although its body is dark blue instead of green. It also has three eyes, two extra arms, and a mouth on the fake pellet. It can be defeated in the same way as a Creeping Chrysanthemum and drops a pellet of random size when defeated. It starts appearing in aboveground areas if the Artificial Incubator is collected.

The Peeking Pelletonium's name was originally created by Hinsburg on the GameFAQs Pikmin 2 boards for his version of Pikmin 3.
