The Painted Sheargrub is a mandiblard that is highly sought-after because of its Poko value. Like most mandiblards, they emerge from the ground when leaders or their Pikmin come near, but as they are timid creatures, they may retreat under the ground even before they are attacked.
Painted Sheargrubs are small creatures that have the same body shape as the Female Sheargrub or the Swarming Sheargrub. They have blue faces, dark blue eyes, and yellow bodies.
Defeating a Painted Sheargrub is always a simple task, as they are easily killed and are completely harmless. The only time they are troublesome is when they become a distraction during a fight against a stronger, larger creature such as a Red Bulborb. They can be swarmed, but throwing a Pikmin directly onto one's back will kill it instantly.
