The Mawdad is a member of the mawdad family appearing in Pikmin: The Story Untold. It strongly resembles a smaller, weaker version of the Armored Mawdad that lacks its signature crystal armor. They attack in groups, but are usually found by themselves. Mawdads have the ability to camouflage with the ground, which often results in surprise attacks from the creatures. The only area Mawdads are found in is the Forest of the Beasts. Underground, Mawdads are found in the Beginner's Pit, Green Onion Hole, and Armored Cannon Chasm.

Notes

Olimar's notes

"This one is small but feisty. These creatures sometimes gang up on prey in groups, but most of the time these creatures usually fight by themselves. This is because they think they’re larger than they actually are. Even with that, they know how to camouflage into the ground and rise up when it’s the right time to attack. This creature has a large mouth span and is able to fit an entire Pikmin inside of it in one bite."

Louie's notes

"If you’re an all-around fan of burgers, thickly slice the mawdad's body into patties and cook them on a grill. Once they are completely done, place one of the patties between two burger buns, along with any other condiments and ingredients you may want, for a delicious mawdad burger. Goes great with orange bulborb fries!"
