The Lesser Spotted Jellyfish is a member of the jellyswimmer family and the smaller counterpart of the Greater Spotted Jellyfish appearing in Pikmin: The Rising Darkness. Compared to the Greater Spotted Jellyfish, the Lesser Spotted Jellyfish is found much more frequently, is much less dangerous, and can only inhale up to fifteen Pikmin before it becomes full. Additionally, the Lesser Spotted Jellyfish lacks a special organ that would enable it to spray a stream of bubbles. Lesser Spotted Jellyfish are always found completely submerged in water, more specifically in the shallows, and can move swiftly through it to catch prey. Only Aqua Pikmin are able to attack a Lesser Spotted Jellyfish because of where it is found. Its weakpoint is its bell, and attacking any other part of its body will have no effect. Leaders cannot hit Lesser Spotted Jellyfish as they float just out of reach, but they can be hit and killed in a single strike once a certain upgrade has been obtained.
