The Icy Shearwig is a member of the mandiblard family in Pikmin 4 that inhabits frigid environments. It is a close relative of the Shearwig and behaves much like it, but when Pikmin or leaders touch an Icy Shearwig, they become increasingly chilled so long as they maintain contact with it. The state of being chilled worsens as contact is maintained with one of the creatures, and results in slower movement and eventual freezing.
