Grey Pikmin are the only type of pikmin you can't control in Pikmin:Redemption.They are the only pikmin that can light up dark areas with their Leaf/Bud/Flower. They also can use bombrocks.
Appearence
Grey Pikmin are grey-colored pikmin, the grey is the same color as the graphite in a pencil. The major differences between these and other pikmin is that they attack you, you can see them from very far away in the dark, and their Leaf/Bud/Flower is a neon white color. The skin of a Grey Pikmin is very soft and thin .This allows it to recieve more sunlight whie in dark places. This is also what makes then easy to kill.
How To Kill

The easiest way to kill is to swarm it.

Grey Pikmin Leaders are incredibly stupid and will accidentaly throw their pikmin off into the abyss, into the mouth of an enemy, or into a hazard.
Locations
They first time you face Grey Pikmin it is a mini-boss fight with a squad of 50 Grey Pikmin and a Grey Pikmin Leader in thd Flooded Abyss. Most of the other times you fight them are in caves.
Reasons Why They Aren't Called Black Pikmin
1.I don't want to be called a rascist(again) for having these kinds of enemies stupid and easily killable.They are that way because the Grey Pikmin Leaders weren't trained adequetly enough.
2.That name is already taken
