Appearance in Pikmin 4.

Poison emitters, previously known as gas pipes, are obstacles that constantly emit poison gas, almost requiring the apt Pikmin to clear. In Pikmin 2, poison emitters, known as gas pipes at the time, take the appearance of orange pipes and are commonly embedded within stick bridges and bramble gates. The pipe remains even after being destroyed, but no longer emits poison. In Pikmin 4, poison emitters look like brown rock-like structures with holes, and are only found standalone.

In Hey! Pikmin, they are known as poison geysers and are indestructible. Hidden in lakes of poison, they spew a column of poison gas at regular intervals.

Hazards Poison

Gas pipes are returning obstacles appearing in Pikmin 2... Again?. It resembles its Pikmin 2 incarnation, being a pipe that has orange and dark brown stripes along its length and emits poison from the hole on its end. Due to continuously releasing poison, only White Pikmin can destroy gas pipes, making them stop functioning. Throwing a bomb rock at it causes it to get stuck into the gas pipe, exploding, permanently destroying the gas pipe, meaning the Screwmouth Finginer can not repair it. This also applies to any sources of explosions except bomb nuggets.

Gas geysers are a returning obstacle in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. They are small geysers located in the ground, with tiny mushrooms around them. They will constantly emit poison gas in a large area, choking and poisoning Pikmin that go near it. White Pikmin can be used to disable the geyser by attacking it, but some gas geysers may be indestructible.
