Attacks Eats and electrocutes Pikmin

The Galvanic Jellyfloat is an electric member of the jellyfloat family introduced in Pikmin: Wide World. Yellow Pikmin are necessary to fight Galvanic Jellyfloats, as electricity constantly surges through their body and tentacles. Galvanic Jellyfloats float above the ground, much like their relatives, idly exploring in a small territory. When a leader or their Pikmin approach, however, a Galvanic Jellyfloat will attempt to reach out to them with its tentacles and electrocute them. A leader wearing the Anti-Electrifier will be completely unaffected by this attack, but any unprotected leader and any Pikmin except Yellow Pikmin that touch the creature will be thrown back upon contact and stunned. A Galvanic Jellyfloat will attempt to suck up any nearby Pikmin and leaders, slowly digesting the former over time until the creature is defeated. Leaders will suffer damage until they free themselves from the creature.

Galvanic Jellyfloats resemble Greater Spotted Jellyfloats but are yellow in color. Arcs of electricity constantly surge over and through their body and tentacles, and they emit a fair amount of light.

Battles against Galvanic Jellyfloats aren't usually difficult, but Yellow Pikmin are usually needed to defeat them. However, any variant of bomb rock can be used to harm one, and rocks and other tools can be used as well. Throwing Rock Pikmin at a Galvanic Jellyfloat is a fine strategy, although they will be electrocuted after inflicting damage. Hitting one of the creatures with a Rock Pikmin or rock will immediately ground it. Purple Pikmin can pound on a grounded Galvanic Jellyfloat after being thrown, but they too become electrocuted on contact. When grounded, a Galvanic Jellyfloat will unleash a massive surge of electricity and shake its body to force any Pikmin off of it before it rises to the air again. Upon defeat, a Galvanic Jellyfloat will yield HP Sparklium icon.png × 6 and rapidly dry out and shrink, falling to the ground and also ceasing emitting electricity. Its remains can be taken to either the Dolphin Lander to receive P3 Poko icon.png × 7 or the Master Onion to receive six Pikmin seeds. Underground, a Galvanic Jellyfloat's remains can be brought to the Lander Pod to either receive P3 Poko icon.png × 7 or be saved for later to gain six Pikmin seeds from the Master Onion, but only if the cave is exited using an escape geyser.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This jellyfloat deters its attackers with powerful electric currents. A specialized organ allows the creature to generate a constant flow of electricity through its entire body, making it dangerous to touch without proper equipment.

Shacho's notes

This creature would make an excellent power source for when my company's buildings have a power outage! Handling it could be a problem, however...

Marie's notes

Galvanic jellyfloats are kind creatures, although touching one can, unfortunately, result in instant death by electrocution. All that's required to care for them properly is an Anti-Electrifier!

Louie's notes

The creature will dry out upon expiration, making for a somewhat gelatinous treat that is ready-to-eat! Its punchy, sharp flavor is sought after by gourmets everywhere.

Dolphin Lander's notes

I'm always frightened by creatures such as this one that can use electricity to defend itself with. Why? Because I could be overloaded with power, and the effects of that could be catastrophic. I don't want to think about them.
