Frosty Flatlands is the first area of Puffmin Quest, it is a barren iceberg floating in the ocean with random objects frozen in its frost. Captain Salty crash lands here after his navigation sent him off course. Pepper along with the ships navigation system both were launched from the ship upon a collision with a smaller iceberg during the crash landing.

Caves
Snowdrift Ditch - The first cave found in Puffmin Quest, it is found beyond a paper bag that prevented you from accessing the cave on day 1. The cave serves as a tutorial for how the future caves will be like, while also introducing enemies that use certain element attacks that your Fiery Puffmin aren't immune to. Unlike Emergence Cave in Pikmin 2, Snowdrift Ditch does not have a second Pikmin type that you discover within it. The final treasure of this cave unlocks the next area, Unnerving Underground.

Trivia
- Frosty Flatlands is an iceberg that broke off from an ice sheet from either the south or north pole. It drifted towards warmer waters and within close distance to where the other areas of the Puffmin Quest are located.
-The area has unique fauna inhabiting it as most of the creatures found around it are not seen in any of the other areas. Implying that the creatures are from a completely different ecosystem from somewhere else on the planet.
