The Elongated Mockiwi is a fairly slow, docile mockiwi that has extremely long legs. Despite its gentle nature, it can inadvertently kill Pikmin by crushing any that are under its large feet when it takes a step. It wanders about, stopping to turn around when it reaches a boundary of its territory. Pikmin that are thrown at its feet or legs simply rebound off of them without harming the creature, but throwing them at its feathery knee joints enough times will cause the creature to fall down. After a while, it shakes off attacking Pikmin, stands up again, and continues its walk.

The Elongated Mockiwi is an enemy that appears in Pikmin Evolution. It looks much the same as its Hey! Pikmin incarnation, though depending on the area it is found in, its plumage can be red, orange, lime green, cyan, or indigo. It is a typically peaceful creature, not actively attacking Pikmin except in retaliation. Rather, it prefers to spend its time foraging for food such as seeds, pellets, and nectar, and crouch down so it can pick up these items with its beak and swallow them. The only danger it poses at that point is that it could accidentally crush Pikmin with its clawed feet, but it tends to flee sheepishly if it does so. What will invoke hostility, however, is while fighting over the berry of a Hanging Cocoberry, as that is its favorite food due to liking the syrup it yields. In this state, the Mockiwi will intentionally try to hurt its competition, by treading on them by stomping its feet onto them and into the ground. As such, large squads are not recommended against this creature.
The Mockiwi's weakpoint is the main body, and swarming its leg joints will not only inflict meager damage to the beast but also topple it over in pain, exposing itself to attack for heavy damage. Beware, as in this state, the Mockiwi will rapidly peck the ground, eating any Pikmin it can while also shaking any Pikmin on its body off. Sometimes, it may even pluck out a Dirtwyrm while performing its pecking attack, inadvertently pulling attention away from itself. The best way to defeat the Elongated Mockiwi is to chill it with ice, such as from a cyan syrup; its quite skinny legs are very vulnerable to cold, and so freezing them will cause it to drop down instantly rather than after some damage. When killed, the Elongated Mockiwi will collapse face-first to the ground and spit out any pellets it may have eaten. It also has a high chance of producing a syrup matching the color of its plumage. Funnily enough, while being carried, its legs will drag behind its body due to being so long, an undignified way to go.

The Elongated Crushblat is a PC-exclusive mockiwi in Pikmin Z, found only at Aves Isle. It is a unique mockiwi species that has evolved to reach food other species are unable to. Many enemies leave the Elongated Crushblat be, it being too big to be considered prey to most. The method to defeat an Elongated Crushblat consists of throwing Pikmin at the creature's leg feathers until it topples over, and then throwing Pikmin at its head. The Elongated Mockiwi's diet consists entirely of vegetation, and it has no known predators.

In Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers, the humble Elongated Mockiwi stands tall, striding in the body of water near Gloomy Mire's landing site. In spite of its height, its body is around the same size as a standard Mockiwi's. It merely walks around in a near circle, bearing absolutely no mind to Pikmin or leaders. In order to reach its head, Pikmin must climb up its legs. If enough Pikmin are at the head, it will bend over from the pressure and weight, allowing for the leaders to throw more Pikmin directly onto its head. After it shakes off the Pikmin, it will throw a tantrum and begin scratching the ground with its sharp, dangerous talons, before retaining its composure and walking some more. It must be defeated to gain access to a treasure, which can be complicated as it slowly recovers its health.

- “A particularly interesting example of waterfowl in PNF-404 is the elongated mockiwi. It can often be spotted in lakes and rivers, nesting on the muddy ground near tall reeds and defending it with leisure. Diurnal and gentle, the bird wades through the water and uses its beak to pick fruits off low-hanging branches, thus necessitating surprisingly long, stilt-like legs. The elongated mockiwi easily dwarfs many of the other animals in its ecosystem and is considered to be the largest known avian species so far. Some have even mistaken the creature for a member of the crushblat family due to its physique, thus leading to the misleading name, "elongated crushblat". The plume of colored feathers is a byproduct of the compounds processed in the food it eats, making it a natural spectacle to watch.”
