Scientific name Kampia fulgurtainia
Family Scarab beetle

The Electripede is a caterpillar-like scarab beetle that inches forward as it moves and can crawl on floors, walls, and even ceilings. When touched or struck, it stops in place and temporarily electrifies itself in self-defense, inadvertently illuminating the surrounding area with light.

Attacks Shocks Pikmin if touched

The Electripede is a species of scarab beetle in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature resembles its original counterpart in Hey! Pikmin. Electripedes are not outwardly hostile, but they can still shock Pikmin and kill them if touched. Yellow Pikmin are best to use when touching these bugs. Rubber Pikmin can also send the attack back and stun the enemy from performing its barrier for a few seconds. Electripedes will crawl slowly on the side of walls or on floors, usually in very dark areas. When touched, the bug will react by creating an electric barrier. The barrier can kill Pikmin, but it also dimly illuminates the room it is in and blooms nearby Bloominous Stemples. Despite being hit, Electripedes do not take any damage.

Notes

  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #1: Electripedes are invulnerable and dangerous, but they do provide valuable light in tight situations!

Olimar's notes

What was once thought to be a larval Anode Beetle is now discovered to be a new species. This small grub is entirely a herbivore, feeding off of the moss and other plants found inside caves. If provoked, it will take the energy stored inside of it to create a highly reactive electric barrier around it as a defense mechanism. This barrier produces artificial light, which can actually help with the development of some plants.

Louie's notes

You must quickly pop this bug into your mouth before it ends up shocking your tastebuds into another world! Risky, but delicious!

President’s notes

All I have to do is collect a few of these small grubs and I can power up pretty much anything I want! I could rake in Pokos by the millions creating my brand new Electripede Company!
