The Dwarf Purple Bulborb is a breadbug appearing in Pikmin I. It has yellowish skin and irises and a purple back with dark purple spots on it. It is twice as large as most dwarf mimics, to more closely resemble a Purple Bulborb's young. Due to its size of 60 millimeters, Pikmin are unable to crush them.

If another creature attacks a group of at least two of these, using their enhanced fangs, the dwarf purple bulborbs will destroy the assailant in no time; just four of these can eliminate a purple bulborb, and, it, being a malicious creature, will often be in groups of five around adult purple bulborbs, just in case.”

So grind this beast's back into a nice meat chunk, sprinkle with bread crumbs, and deep-fry until scrumptious and orange. Sprinkle it with grounded-up coral candypop bud petals. Dwarf Purple Bulborbs make an appearance in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs. They are roughly the size of an adult Bulbmin. Due to highly-developed muscles in their legs, a Dwarf Purple Bulborb's jumping attack can crush up to seven Pikmin at a time. They often appear in groups of three to seven. Dwarf Purple Bulborbs tend to stay near the main path, so dealing with a group of them may be necessary to progress. Curiously, the sound of them jumping and landing is that of a Bulbmin's footstep. The colors of Dwarf Purple Bulborbs provide the hint to use Purple Pikmin to offer them a swift death. Dwarf Purple Bulborbs can eat up to five Pikmin at a time. Dwarf Purple Bulborbs can be seen in the Marsh Territory, standing on land and in very shallow water. They can also be seen in the Toxin Territory, scattered around in groups of two to three. Five Dwarf Purple Bulborbs appear in the Marsh Chamber, helping to defend the toxin legend shard. Captain Olimar can assist in carrying the corpses of Dwarf Purple Bulborbs.

The Dwarf Purple Bulborb is a breadbug subspecies that is seen in Pikmin: Connection of the Worlds and mimics the Purple Bulborb. It is usually found near Purple Bulborbs but is sometimes independent. Dwarf Purple Bulborbs are typically found in the Ancient Valley but sometimes go to strange habitats like the Frigid Cavern.
Dwarf Purple Bulborbs resemble Dwarf Red Bulborbs, but have a purple backside and are the size of an adult Bulbmin.
This foe, though small, has quite a bit of vitality, making it a bit of a battle. Its usual attack is eating, but it can eat three Pikmin at a time. When half of its life remains, it gains a new attack: jumping. When it lands, it will crush any Pikmin underneath it. This attack can kill up to fifteen Pikmin. The creature is slightly faster and more aggressive than a Red Bulborb. Defeat a Dwarf Purple Bulborb as if it were a normal bulborb, but beware of its jumping attack. Throwing Purple Pikmin is the best choice, as their pounds will stun the creature and make it unable to do its jump. Swatting it with leaders is also a choice, but ill-recommended.
