Crystal gates are a gate that requires Rock Pikmin or bomb rocks to break. It consists of a slab of glass or crystal stuck between two clamps and will crack as it is damaged. Once sufficiently damaged, the glass shatters altogether. The clamps on either side of a crystal wall may be dark or light, rusted or rust-free.

Crystal walls are a returning obstacle in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The large walls are immune to most Pikmin attacks. Enemies can see through the walls, but will mainly lose interest in the squad. The only way to take down a crystal wall is through Rock Pikmin. Weighted Pikmin and Purple Pikmin can be used as a substitute, but they are not as effective. The more a crystal gate is damaged, the more cracks that will form on it. Once beaten down fully, the crystal wall will shatter and allow for the Pikmin and captain to cross through. Bomb rocks can also work in destroying a crystal wall.

In Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers, crystal gates function as they did in Pikmin 3. The Venowraith is capable of summoning walls made out of its own crystallized venom as its fight goes on, which can be broken either with Rock Pikmin or by having the Venowraith attack them itself. They'll also crumble over time.
