The Crystal Wollywog is an amphituber that appears in Pikmin Eco as a replacement for the Wollywog. Unlike the unused creature from Pikmin 3, the Crystal Wollywog in Pikmin Eco has an actual crystalline stomach instead of a rocky object. They behave similarly to any other wollywog; they remain stationary until leaders or Pikmin venture within range. Once they do, the creature will leap up into the air and slam down on top of either a leader or their Pikmin, crushing any underneath. Compared to the Yellow Wollywog, the Crystal Wollywog has a longer range, and it can cause more damage due to its crystal-coated stomach.
Notes
In-game entry
- "Once thought to be an extinct species, later discoveries of this crystalline wollywog had disproved that earlier statement. These are highly evolved for a subterranean lifestyle, and their soft skin can store water thanks to their crystalline overcoat. This same crystalline coating however makes this species much slower than other wollywogs, making their habitats limited. Some scientists believe this species to evolve from wollywogs that are unable to return back to the surface, but this is still under debate."
