The Crumbug is a small, more cuboid breadbug that quickly eats Pikmin. It wanders about its territory and turns around upon reaching a wall. If it falls to a lower elevation, it won't be able to climb back up and will continue to pace there.

Cookie is the Crumbug that appears in Pikmin: Antarctic Survival. Due to being a common encounter in the game's first area, Cookie is likely to be one of the first Awakened residents to join the Diamond Settlement during the events of the game. Cookie is stronger than most creatures her size, but she still isn't particularly strong, and as such is not one of the more helpful residents to have in the settlement.

Cookie is chipper and excitable and likes to spend time around other similar residents such as Yuki. She likes hoarding objects, as is typical for a breadbug, with pastries and sweet foods being her absolute favorite, as she has a major sweet tooth. If Cookie meets Himadri, Mara, and Timmy, the four of them will become fast friends due to them all being small and friendly Breadbugs, and Cookie will quickly become an honorary member of "The Gang", the team name for the three Dwarf Bulborbs.

Cookie was raised in the same breadbug den as Rye and Pita, though she did not go through the famine that the other Breadbugs did. Instead, Cookie was attentive enough to realize in early winter that the Breadbugs didn't have enough food to last through the winter, and as such she decided to leave in search of food before it became too cold. Her early action saved her from going through the tragedy that fell upon the other Breadbugs, as she was able to find a hollowed-out tree with some food stashed away inside, which became her new den. Much later, Cookie ended up finding her way to the Antarctic like the other two Breadbugs did, ending up in the Chilly Valley. Cookie doesn't recognize Rye and Pita at first, nor do they recognize her, but if they all become residents of the Diamond Settlement they eventually realize that they are all from the same nest of Breadbugs, though Rye and Pita assumed that Cookie was long-dead at that point, since she went missing at the very start of the winter and never reappeared.

Cookie is obviously named after the cookie, a baked dessert with some similarities to bread. Her name and species in combination likely relate to cookie crumbs.

The Crumbug is a small breadbug in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature resembles its original counterpart in Hey! Pikmin. The small creature will usually only be found coming out of a breadbug den. After appearing, they will wander around or follow any Breadbugs. Although Crumbugs can not carry objects, they can eat Pikmin, and at a rapid pace. Fortunately, a Crumbug can be killed in one hit, allowing for any Pikmin to be saved before being eaten. Sometimes, Crumbugs can be found outside of breadbug dens, where they will patrol a set path.

Notes

  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #1: Crumbugs are extremely fragile; a single hit can turn them into crumbs.

Olimar's notes

The juvenile state of a Breadbug before maturity. During this time, they usually spend their time inside dens, waiting for Breadbugs to bring food in for them. But as they mature, they will travel outside of their home to go and eat Pikmin and other smaller bugs. Over time, they develop their hide and begin to progress to a more scavenger lifestyle.

Louie's notes

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do with the Breadbug family due to their bland taste. However, these smaller creatures can be repurposed into croutons with the right seasoning.

President’s notes

These small critters don't seem to have the keen nose to sense treasure, unlike their larger brothers. Although they do taste nice after Louie cooked one up for me! I'm surprised he can take the most disgusting creatures and create culinary masterpieces out of them.
