Scientific name Scarpanica doofenia
Family Scarpanid

The Bumbling Snitchbug is a scarpanid that closely resembles the Swooping Snitchbug in appearance, though possesses more body mass, makes a different buzzing sound, and does not have as distinct a head. The two also behave similarly towards small grounded creatures, but instead of targeting Pikmin specifically, this lumbering bug prefers to attack leaders, snatching them and tossing them to the ground. When carrying a leader, the Bumbling Snitchbug flies higher than usual. Leaders that the enemy has managed to take hold of will dismiss their army but are able to struggle free. Weighing the beast down will cause it to crash into the ground, where it is easily overwhelmed by Pikmin.

Okay, so what was the next one I'm writing about again?

While it's a pain to work with, the leathery meat is well worth the effort. Serve the steak with a side of fries made from its wings and arms. Don't let anything go to waste!

Attacks Abducts and throws leaders

The Bumbling Snitchbug is a returning enemy appearing in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature retains its design from Pikmin 2. The Bumbling Snitchbug will fly around aimlessly and rather clumsily. If it sees captains, it will fly down and grab up to two of them, carrying them around for a bit before slamming them into the ground, dealing heavy damage. If it misses, it will clumsily swoop back up before trying to strike yet again. Captains can wiggle around to break free of the snitchbug's grasp. The best way to take down one of these creatures is by throwing Yellow Pikmin or sending Winged Pikmin at them. Iguana Pikmin can also knock down this enemy with their long tongues. If a captain is holding a Weighted Pikmin when the Bumbling Snitchbug swoops down to grab them, the creature will fail its attack.

Attacks Abducts and throws leaders

In Pikmin: Ultimate Doom, the Bumbling Snitchbug acts more aggressively as it will slam leaders onto the ground fairly hard, reducing their health by one-fourth of the maximum if they lack a defense upgrade. Underground, Bumbling Snitchbugs are encountered on sublevels one, three, and four of Titan's Denizen, sublevel three of Dark Kingdom, and sublevel seven of Molten Mezzanine.
