The Distant Forest is the first area in Pikmin VI. It is the site of the S.S. Explorer's crash, and the site of Alph's crash along with it. This area harbors the first fruit found, the Ambiguous Clump. This area is based on the season of spring, and where Alph discovers Red Pikmin. Despite its title, the Distant Forest is not based on the Distant Spring or Forest of Hope, areas both from Pikmin 1.

- “This area is the site of my crash. Looking back, I probably should have thanked the laws of chaos for being able to crash-land somewhere safe. Now my top priority is reuniting with Ali!”

- “This is where my mentor and fellow crewmember, Alph, crashed. I landed somewhere else, and would have been fine if it wasn't for my ADHD hindering me from making sense of the situation.”
