The adhesquirt family consists of squid-like creatures often capable of latching onto various surfaces.

Holdfast Barbasucker

The Holdfast Barbasucker is a small enemy that spends most of its time latched onto a wall. When approached, it will spit out a tongue tipped with a spiked ball that remains on the ground for several seconds before extending its spikes, skewering nearby Pikmin in the process.

Quavershell

Main article: Quavershell

The Quavershell is a fire-based squid-like creature. Its sticky feet allow it to effortlessly walk on the walls surrounding the arena, and tough armor covers the top of its head, preventing Pikmin from attacking it there. As the Quavershell walks, it spews out fireballs from the sucker on its head, which bounce around the arena and generally make things tougher for non-Red Pikmin.
