Plot
Botan and Akari decide to establish PNF-404 as a very well-known planet, and possibly figure out why everyone who passes the planet instead crashlands on it so they may turn it into a tourist destination and learn to breed its wildlife. Botan and Akari rent a simple Hocotate Freight ship and fly in it to PNF-404. This ship was more advanced and had more interior room than in Pikmin 2, was thankfully less rude and more helpful, but still talked as much. As they land safely, they notice the Pikmin were waiting for them, the Bean Pikmin in particular. With no other choice, the brother-and-sister duo uses the Bean Pikmin to take control of the creatures hungry for them. The pair revisits familiar areas on their adventure. On the way, they conduct valuable research on the planet's oxygen and how they could filter it in such a way that they would not need airtight suits to protect them from it. After a strong buildup, Botan and Akari must use their Bean Pikmin to overtake a Berserk Leech Hydroe.
