Scientific Name psedoarachnia tartarus
Family arachnorb
Areas TBA
Underground Areas TBA
Challenge Mode Levels Damp Marsh, Mud Beach
Attacks Crushing Pikmin, Gets Pikmin Stuck

Behavior[edit]

The Tarpit Long Legs will jump down once activated. It will splash mud or tar when it lands, disabling any non-Black Pikmin that gets splashed with the goo, until they are whistled at. It will stomp around its arena, splattering mud or tar in the places where there is none, like dirt and cement. This Arachnorb will go outside of its arena after a set amount of time.

Appearance[edit]

The Tarpit Long Legs is a brown-red color, until it is slashed with mud or tar, turning a dark brown or black respectively. If it wanders into water, the portion of it that touches water will revert to its original color, but it will make the water somewhat murky for a period of time. It has longer legs than the Shaggy Long Legs, only Winged Pikmin can reach it.

Strategy[edit]

Since the Tarpit Long Legs has longer legs than most Arachnorbs, Winged Pikmin are somewhat useful in battle. Unfortunately, when it is covered in gunk it will trap the Winged Pikmin onto it, until they are whistled. Black Pikmin are recommended when attacking a Tarpit Long Legs, since they can climb up its legs, taking off some of the mud or tar on it. Some Tarpit long legs may wonder into deep water, cleaning up some of its gunk and making it vulnerable to Blue Pikmin and Winged Pikmin.
